09- Current Electricity & DC Circuits
Summary: In electric circuits, current flows much like the water in a river flows. You will like this unit because you get to spend several days using circuit boards and mastering the fine art of making a tiny lightbulb glow. Seriously, electricity is a huge part of modern life. Whether it's your iPod, your iPad, your computer, the air-conditioning use in the summer, the lights in your house that let you study your physics homework, or the blow dryer you use this morning so you could look nice for school today. In this unit, you will learn about how circuit boards work, you will make a wire using a wire stripper, you will learn how to use a multimeter to test for voltage, resistance, electrical currentor just to analyze the circuit using the conductivity feature. You will learn what a schematic diagram is, and the most basic symbols necessary to let you document the circuits you create and understand the circuits that other people create. Work hard, and don't fall behind in this unit, because you want to make sure that you stay current!
